It’s after midnight, and Sim and I still have a couple more plays to make. We’re standing on his front porch trying to figure some shit out, along with another nigga on our team. We almost took a hit earlier some niggas came through the hood and shot at us. I guess the niggas in charge heard about us moving in on their operation. While we call some plays and figure shit out, we decided to light up and shit. Alecia been blowing my line up since earlier, but I told her I would hit her back when I wasn’t busy with shit.

I care about her, but she is really starting to get attached. I mean, it’s nothing wrong with it, but she said she would be able to handle the life I live. The truth is I don’t think she can. She has been hurt in the past and I understand that, but she is letting that get in the way. It seems like it’s a different argument or fight with us every other day now. I like her, but some of her ways are starting to push me away. I just came home earlier this year. I don’t need any unnecessary drama in my life. If I’m going to be with a woman then I need her to be my rider. Not my headache.

Sometimes she trips out on me and on one hand, I get it because of what she went through, but then on the other hand she really needs to chill sometimes. She is a really sweet girl though. She has been there for me since I got out practically and watched me come up. Hell, she even decorated my whole apartment when I first moved in. She washes my dishes and shit. There is something about her though, that I can’t put my finger on. Maybe I’m just tripping.

“Did that nigga Mario ever hit you back?” I asked Sim.

“Hell nah. He hasn’t responded yet.”

“See this is the bullshit I’m talking about. These niggas don’t want no money for real. I told him earlier that we would be hitting him up tonight for a drop and here he is mia. Shit wild.”

“I know he supposed to be on call. Fuck it though. If he ain’t we gonna get this money regardless,” he shrugged.

“Yeah, I know, but still. With him moving that weight on the state border line that can get us money even faster. We’re trying to hold shit down inner city right now. I need these boys we recruited to show loyalty and accountability if not, they gonna have to go.”

“Facts. Yeah, I hear you on that. It’s going to be hard to keep a solid team if niggas ain’t keeping up their word.”

“Well, y’all know y’all can count on me for sure.” Our nigga Rob chimed in.

“Oh, I know you’re about the only one that solid. Well, you and CJ.”

“Hell yeah!” Sim added.

“I still can’t believe them niggas tried to roll through on us like that dog!” Rob said.
